The Oklahoma State Radiological Society (OSRS) was created in 1973 for the purpose of advancing the science of radiology and improving radiologic services to the patients and communities of Oklahoma.  The OSRS continues to study the socioeconomic impact of the practice of radiology and has always encouraged improvement in continuing education for radiologists and technicians alike.  The OSRS has established and maintained the highest level of medical and ethical standards and its actions and efforts are focused around maintaining such goals.

Furthermore, The OSRS provides for input from every radiologist in our state. Through this means, we have the ability to influence policies and standards for all of Radiology. Through its government relations division, the College has been profoundly instrumental in creating the positive relationship which now exists between the federal and state legislatures. This has been made possible through the contribution of every member of the College. The strength of the influence which the ACR and the OSRS has with Congress and other government agencies, i.e., CMS, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, National Institutes of Health, FDA, etc., is directly related to the number of radiologists it represents.
