As you know Radiology was not included in the Trauma Care Tier A for reimbursement.  We are current attempting to be included as part of this tier.  The current OSRS president, Gene Pascual, DO recently sent a letter to the appropriate officials regarding this issue.  Our lobbyist is actively communicating our concern as well.

 

For those of you who are interested in filing a claim for reimbursement from the trauma fund the link to obtain further information is http://www.health.state.ok.us/program/injury/trauma/tfund.html.   According to OSRS legislative liaison, it is recommended that all physicians who have appropriate claims to file should do so whether or not they are in the first tier for reimbursement.  The eligible criteria for this upcoming distribution are for uncompensated major trauma cases that were admitted to an Oklahoma license hospital from July 1, 2004 to December 31, 2004.  Hospitals must submit data to the State Trauma Registry in compliance with state regulation, and this data is used to confirm that cases submitted by physicians meet the clinical criteria for trauma fund reimbursement.  The application must be received at the Oklahoma State Department of Health Trauma Division Office by October 31, 2005 at 5 pm.
